Target Species for Lake Ontario Fishing Charters
King (Chinook) Salmon Known as the heavyweights of the fall run, these powerful fish offer an intense battle for any angler. From September through October, we target these trophies as they enter the river systems, providing some of the most demanding freshwater action in the country.
Coho (Silver) Salmon Coho are celebrated for their aggressive strikes and acrobatic fights once hooked. They typically follow the King Salmon run, offering a fast-paced fishing experience that is a favorite for those who enjoy active, hard-hitting fish.
Steelhead (Rainbow Trout) These lake-run rainbows are the crown jewels of winter and spring fishing, known for their incredible speed and multiple jumps. We utilize technical drift techniques to find these silver bullets in the deepest holes of the Salmon River throughout the colder months.
Brown Trout The Oswego River and Lake Ontario tributaries are home to massive, world-record-class Brown Trout. Often found following the salmon eggs in the fall or staging in the lower river, these smart, wary fish require the precise presentation and local mastery we provide.
Atlantic Salmon A rare and prized catch in the region, the Atlantic Salmon offers a unique challenge due to its legendary leaping ability and endurance. While less common than other species, hooking into one of these "landlocked" leapers is a highlight of any guest's season.
